Remote, Project-Based STEM Learning for Middle & High School Students
Northbridge Academy’s Applied Aerospace Data Lab gives students a unique opportunity to engage in real-world aerospace research from the safety of home. Using actual telemetry and datasets from high-altitude balloon missions run by our affiliated aerospace company, students participate in every step of the scientific process—without ever leaving their workspace.
In this hands-on, project-based STEM program, students analyze flight data, model atmospheric and payload systems, compare predictions with real outcomes, and develop solutions to engineering challenges. The program emphasizes critical thinking, data literacy, and problem-solving skills that are directly transferable to advanced STEM studies and careers.
Safety and ethics are core to the experience: students serve as remote analysts and researchers, with no physical labor or risk. All experiments are carefully designed and monitored by professionals, allowing students to focus on data-driven learning, hypothesis testing, and results interpretation.
The Applied Aerospace Data Lab also prepares students for college and STEM careers. Participants gain experience working with professional-grade datasets, learn about FAA regulations and airspace safety, and build a portfolio of authentic research projects to showcase their skills.
Through this program, Northbridge Academy combines innovative remote education with real-world STEM applications, empowering students to explore aerospace, engineering, and atmospheric science in a safe, structured, and highly engaging environment.
